What is the best plastic water pipe?
PEX. Pex piping is a flexible plastic piping that has become a popular selection in residential and small business applications. Although slightly higher initial cost, its minimal maintenance, and fast installation process make it the best pipe for water distribution inside a building.
Why Use Plastic?
Since plastics generally have high tensile strength, flexing and compressing the hoses will not cause flex fatigue. Plastics are far less prone to damage from everyday wear than competing rubber and/or fabric type hoses. For heavy-duty applications we have several plastic ducting options that offer excellent wear-resistance and durability to handle demanding applications such as transfer of abrasive material.
What is the temperature limit of the plastic pipe?
The maximum recommended operating temperature for PVC pressure pipe is 140°F. PVC pipe and conduit becomes stiffer with decreasing temperature and more flexible with increasing temperature. As with dimensions and pressure capacity, published pipe stiffness figures are applicable only for 73°F operating temperatures.
